Under the Tape

As promised, I got my turn under the tight embrace of hundreds of yards of duct tape. I chose the colors myself prior to the wrap and quite like how it turned out. This was by far the most secure mummification that I have ever been in. There was absolutely no way I could get out on my own. I couldn't even wiggle enough to manage to roll over. It was a fantastic 4 hours!

Well, it's long over due, but better late than never. I recently attended my first Cleveland Leather Annual Weekend. I have to say, it was not what I expected.

I suppose I went into the weekend expecting a more quiet, toned down version of the larger, more prominent events like IML or MAL. For starters, I was pleased to discover that CLAW was not a title, like the other events I mentioned. I'm not saying that I disagree with holding pageants at these events, as I feel they are quite important, but I do have to disagree with them being the focus of these events. At least for me, these events have always been more about like minded people getting together, building friendships, sharing experiences, learning, and having a generally amazing time.

And that's exactly what I found CLAW to be. The weekend felt like it was less about looking good in your gear and being with friends, and more like it was about feeling good in your gear and being with friends.

There is not a doubt in my mind that I will be attending again.
