IML Trip, Day 4

Day 4, Thursday, started off a little… off. It was pouring outside and we felt terrible, thanks to the night of celebrating prior. But we were still excited. It was the beginning of my first day of my first IML, and nothing could get me down. We hit the road a little later than our friends, who had ventured out hours before us. The drive was pretty much uneventful. Our morning and early afternoon consisted only of Some rain, bad truck stop food, and beautiful scenery. We finally reached the outskirts of Chicago to reach the most miserable part of our day. I’m sure you all know exactly what I’m talking about. Traffic. We sat for more than an hour in bumper to bumper traffic as we made our way to the Hyatt Regency at a snail’s pace. But as I said, nothing would get me down. I was still more excited than I ever thought I could be.

We finally reached the hotel, had our bags delivered to the room and checked in. After checking out the room and meeting up with the rest of our party, we made plans for dinner. Going to dinner would be fun and all, but it’s IML; why not make it a little more fun. Those of us who were not already wearing one, promptly changed into singlets before throwing our street clothes on over them. We all had a great dinner together and caught up, while some talked about previous IML experiences. The food was good, but the company was amazing. After dinner, Flyboyfl and I made our way to the lobby for a meet and greet with someone I had wanted to meet for a very long time…
